Alla
Prima Oil Painting Classes
"Wet-On-Wet"
Painting
The Advaced Alla Prima painting classes allow oil painters to find
their style! Make a flower last forever - paint it! Recreate a master
work as the Old Masters did - in one sitting! Working alla prima
(wet-on-wet) requires a clear understanding of the process of oil
painting with an opportunity to express individual creativity. Studio
alla prima instruction offers fixed variables (light and
subject), making this introductory workshop a step towards painting
outdoors, where the scene and light are transient ~ the ultimate level!
Advanced Level ~ All Prima Painting:
Requires four (4) Beginning Level or Intermediate Level workshops
to be completed as a prerequisite.
* All advanced level workshops meet once a week for five consecutive
weeks, totaling 17.5 hours of instruction.
* A wide variety of compositions for still-life subjects offers challenges.
* Learn spatial relationships, proportions and design.
* Understand color theory and values for creating light and shadow.
* Opportunity to test learned techniques and show competence.
* Wet-on-wet format encourages confidence and "getting loose."
